FC Barcelona has announced that HMD will be its official smartphone partner. The business will back both the women's team, Barcelona Femeni, and the men's team.
The release also disclosed that teams from various sports, such as handball, roller hockey, basketball, and futsal, will be a part of the cooperation.
The 17-year-old wunderkind and potential future star of the Catalan team, Lamine Yamal, had her hair done by Saul Peregrina, who disclosed the collaboration. By chopping off the HMD logo next to a Barcelona crest, the barber officially announced the collaboration.

Under the terms of the agreement, which is originally for three years, HMD will promote its smartphones on digital displays at the Olympic Stadium, the home of FC Barcelona. The advertisements will also be displayed at Camp Nou when the club relocates to its newly rebuilt residence.
According to the official news release, the relationship would eventually include "several digital-first content pieces to excite fans and keep partnership visibility levels high."
Before that, HMD FC Barcelona partnered with Oppo on smartphones. There were other Oppo phones with FC Barcelona themes, such as the F1 Plus and Reno 10x Zoom, but more recently, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has been working with UEFA to advertise its products during the Champions League competition.
