The Galaxy Ring, Samsung's first smart ring, was partially introduced at MWC in February. The full unveiling is scheduled for July at the company's next Unpacked event. We've already informed you of its estimated price and battery capacity, which vary depending on the size.
APK teardown of the Samsung Find app has now disclosed additional information regarding the ring. It will have a Lost mode that allows you to adjust the ring's blinking speed to help you locate it.
The Galaxy Ring will use an LED light for this. The Samsung Find app will notify you whether it has successfully connected to the ring or not after you switch on Lost mode.
In the unlikely event that it is truly lost, lost mode also allows you to lock your Samsung account through the Samsung Find app, preventing anybody else from using the ring or accessing your data.
This will go above and beyond what Oura, Samsung's primary rival, already offers for its rings, which go into Restricted Mode when they try to pair with a different handset. The Oura app will ask you to factory reset the ring when you use this option. Unfortunately, this process will remove all data from the last sync.
