The social network, formerly known as Twitter, is beginning to make the information about what postings you liked on X private. Previously, this information was visible to the public and may occasionally land users in trouble.

You will continue to be able to see posts that you have liked, but others won't, according to the X Engineering account. You won't get comprehensive lists of other people's posts, but authors will still be able to see who liked their posts and maintain their like numbers.

Owner and Executive Chairman of X, Elon Musk, stated in a different article that it was "important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so."

Not happy with the adjustment, creators and paying users claimed they would increase platform manipulation through sponsored likes and that they couldn't track post engagement. But since they won't be teased for it, consumers could be able to like more content as a result.

However, if this feature becomes universally accessible, one of the incentives for purchasing the premium subscription will be eliminated. After experiencing a sharp decline in sales in 2023, the corporation attempted to save face by launching a premium tier in an attempt to offset the lost revenue.
