The Pixel 8a's 4,492mAh battery is little less powerful than the Pixel 8's 4,575mAh cell. In addition, it has a smaller display—6.1 inches on the diagonal as opposed to 6.2 inches.
It should come as no surprise that the Pixel 8a achieved an Active Use Score of 11 hours and 25 minutes, which is comparable to the original Pixel 8, given that the two phones have the same CPU. It provides more than 10 hours of online browsing, over 13 hours of video streaming, over 7 hours of gaming, and 23 hours of talk time. For a little phone, not too terrible.
Even so, a good number of rivals with comparable sizes report higher Active Use ratings—at least 13 hours or more. A deeper look at the handset's other features will be revealed in the comprehensive review, so stay tuned.
