The new Chromecast with Google TV that Google is developing differs greatly from the devices that we have previously seen. It would be dubbed TV Streamer and look more like a set-top box than an oval dongle, according to 9to5Google. Along with a minor facelift, the remote will maintain its oval shape.

The Google TV Streamer appears to be more slanted and around the size of a Pixel Tablet Charging Speaker Dock. Two wires are coming out of the rear of it, one of which is probably the power cord and the other the HDMI. There is no information in the source on whether or not it has a display or touch capabilities.

The volume keys on the remote are no longer on the side, but rather on top. The remote may still appear the same. The voice input key has been replaced by a color-coded Home key.

As Google works to integrate its own AI engine, Gemini, with Assistant across all devices, the voice button now has a standard microphone graphic rather than the Assistant branding.

Another update to the Input/Source key is the addition of a Magic symbol, which should enable users to reprogram it for a variety of uses, such as app shortcuts or device inputs.

On August 13, Google is hosting a big event where the new Pixel 9 phones will be shown. We'll have to wait for more confirmation, but we could also witness the introduction of the TV Streamer.
