Along with the Watch Fit 3 and the global release of two Matebook notebooks, Huawei also unveiled the Freebuds 6i. We can finally offer our thoughts on the TWS earphones, which promise better noise cancellation and longer battery life. We've been using them for a few weeks.

The Freebuds 6i are available in Purple and White in addition to the Black color that we had. Like its predecessor, the Freebuds 5i, the buds are glossy, but the case is matte. Because of their striking visual resemblance, it takes a trained eye to distinguish between the two generations.

The buds are quite resistant to smudges and fingerprints despite their glossy appearance. They include the Huawei logo on the side, short stems, and rubber tips (two more sets in various sizes are included in the package). A USB-A to USB-C cable and a Quick Start Guide are also included in the package.

Because the buds have magnets, they slide neatly into the casing. Additionally, they include a touch-sensitive side that allows for actions like pausing and playing music by touching or swiping.

With Bluetooth 5.3, Huawei has enhanced the Freebuds 6i's connectivity, allowing for the simultaneous connection of two devices. You don't need to carry different pairs for your phone and laptop because the transfer is seamless.

It's simple to pair the buds with a phone; however, the AI Life software is better downloaded from the Huawei AppGallery than the Google Play Store. There's no need to look for the app because Huawei includes a QR code on the back of the box that opens it instantly.

The Freebuds 6i buds and case weigh the same, but each bud now carries a 55 mAh cell, while the case's battery capacity has grown by 25% to 510 mAh.

With ANC turned off, Huawei promises 8 hours of audio playing, and with it on, 5 hours. These results are encouraging, according to our comprehensive testing, since we were able to get around 7 hours with ANC off and seldom more than 4 hours with ANC on.

We achieved almost 32 hours, as opposed to the promised 35 hours, and approximately 18 hours, as opposed to the stated 20 hours, while taking into account the recharging from the case with ANC off.

The 11 mm quad-magnet dynamic drivers of the Freebuds 6i are 50% more powerful than those of the Freebuds 6 and certified Hi-Res. But because there isn't much bass in the sound, it doesn't work well with R&B, rap, or electronic music genres. Positively, voices are very well-defined, making them perfect for calls and meetings.

With an improved noise-filtering chamber and a 3-mic system to cut down on background noise and concentrate on conversations, the buds' Dynamic ANC 3.0 noise cancellation technology reduces background noise.

The three manual settings are configurable through the AI Life app or the buds themselves: awareness, off, and noise canceling. There are four modes for noise cancellation: Dynamic, Cozy, General, and Ultra. The Dynamic mode, which adjusts to the environment for the best noise reduction, was our favorite.

Voice Mode can be turned on or off in awareness mode. Turning on Voice Mode just allows you to carry on conversations while blocking out background noise, which makes it more comfortable in our opinion.

The Freebuds 6i from Huawei are marketed as reasonably priced TWS earbuds with soft rubber tips and IP54 protection, making them perfect for daily use and exercise.

The Freebuds 6i is a fantastic value at €99, especially in light of Huawei's regular sales. Right now, customers in Europe may receive a €50 discount on additional wearables like the Watch Fit, Freeclip, or Band 8, which makes the Freebuds 6i a great buy.
