In 2022, Netflix launched an ad-supported subscription that costs USD 7, CAD 6, GBP 5, or EUR 6. Additionally, the streamer has discontinued its Basic plan, which was the least expensive ad-free choice at $10/€5 per month, as it was revealed earlier this year.

Netflix is now making this modification in response to several Reddit users who have reported receiving notices that their Basic plan is about to expire and that they must select between the less expensive ad-supported plan and one of the two other ad-free alternatives, which are $15.50 FHD and $23.00 4K.

It turns out that the ad-supported plan is quite well-liked. Although it's not yet available in every market, 40 million people have already signed up for it.

If you're thinking about switching to the ad-supported tier, keep in mind that some TV series and films aren't accessible on it (Netflix claims that this is because of licensing constraints). However, neither Netflix Games nor Kids' accounts display advertisements.
