Over the weekend, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset—the business's most recent model—silently surfaced on the corporate website. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is replaced by the new mid-range platform, as it appears the business overlooked the existence of a second-generation 4nm chip.
Better AI performance is available with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for applications like activity monitoring and noise removal in phone conversations. With certain CPU and display downgrades, the chip is very identical to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 has an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. This configuration is similar to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2's, except the 7s Gen 2's efficiency core frequency is slightly faster (1.95 GHz). Another distinction is that, unlike the 7s, the 6 Gen 3 supports screens with up to Full HD+ resolution at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as opposed to 144 Hz.
The Adreno 710 GPU was utilized by Qualcomm, and the chip supports only UFS 3.1 storage in addition to the more recent LPDDR5 RAM and the older LPDDR4X RAM. The new chip also supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E in terms of connectivity.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3's camera capabilities include a 48 MP single sensor for continuous readings, 32 MP and 16 MP twin sensors, and a 200 MP photo capture capability.
We are unsure of the chipset's release date for OEMs, as Qualcomm has not released an official press release about it.
