China is seeing rapid development in foldables, which are becoming smaller, and more powerful chipsets, cameras, and larger batteries are offered. With a bigger primary display and four back cameras, including a 5x periscope lens, Xiaomi's new Mix Fold 4 is aimed squarely against the newly released Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Honor Magic V3. It is very light and thin.

Mix Fold 4 is almost as tiny as Honor's Magic V3, at just 226 grams when folded and 4.59 mm when unfurled—the sides of Xiaomi's curved metal frame taper into the frame itself.

The interior construction of Mix Fold 4 is made of T800H high-strength carbon fiber, which is extremely light for its size and provides 300% more impact resistance than Mix Fold 3 did.

Additionally, it is the first Xiaomi foldable to have an IPX8 rating, meaning it can withstand 30 minutes of submersion in water up to 1.5 meters.

A 6.56-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate, and FHD+ resolution is included.

The 7.98-inch Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) primary screen, which boasts an adaptable 1-120 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, is the focal point of the display. According to Xiaomi, the maximum brightness of both screens is 3,000 nits, and they are equipped with 20MP front-facing cameras.

Like its most recent high-end foldable competitors, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm, up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

Regarding the camera, Xiaomi spared no expense with the Mix Fold 4, which sports a Leica quad-camera configuration with Summilux lenses.

The primary shooter has an f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and a 50MP main sensor that is equal to a 23mm lens. Moreover, a 10MP periscope with a 5x optical zoom and an equivalent lens of 115mm is included, along with a 50MP 2x portrait sensor (47mm). A 12MP ultrawide lens with a 15mm equivalent is the fourth camera on the back.

Combining a 5,100mAh Xiaomi Surge battery with 50W wireless and 67W cable charging capabilities, the Mix Fold 4 runs Xiaomi HyperOS, which is based on Android 14.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is available in blue, white, and black hues. The 12/256GB trim costs CNY 8,999 ($1,237), while the 16/512GB version costs CNY 9,999 ($1,375), and the top-of-the-line Mix Fold 3 with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 10,999 ($1,513).
