With the release of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia last month, Apple announced a suite of AI technologies that will undoubtedly dominate the company's marketing this year: Apple Intelligence. Even after these OSs officially launch this fall, Apple Intelligence will remain in beta and be available for free use—that is, of course, provided you have a compatible device, such as an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or perhaps one of the iPhone 16 family. For Mac and iPad users, however, you will need to have a device that has Apple's M-series chips.

But according to a recent story from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg—a reliable source when it comes to all things Apple—Apple Intelligence could not be free indefinitely. He predicts that Apple Intelligence will be divided into two levels by the corporation at some time in the not-too-distant future.

One will remain free but will only offer a restricted range of benefits; on the other hand, you will need to pay for something like Apple Intelligence+ to get the entire suite of AI capabilities on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Like all the other Apple "+" services, this plan will be subscription-based, and it will help Apple combat the recent tendency of consumers to update their gadgets considerably later than they used to. Thus, it is anticipated that the corporation would generate more revenue from services than from the sale of devices, with Apple Intelligence playing a significant role in this approach.

Furthermore, Apple intends to receive a portion of subscription income from each AI partner that it incorporates into its products, just like it does from purchases made through the App Store (EU excluded).

Prepare for things to grow much worse if you already detest the several memberships you pay for each month. This research offers an intriguing glimpse at how Apple perceives its future revenue sources.
