More details regarding Apple's upcoming hybrid foldable gadget are revealed in a recent report from the reliable Ming-Chi Kuo Apple analyst. In the first half of 2026, he thinks the business will be able to offer not one, but maybe two foldable gadgets.

That mostly corresponds with a recent report that states the device, which resembles a foldable tablet, will launch in late 2025 or early 2026. Presently, two form factors (20.25" and 18.8") are under development; when folded, they measure 14-15" and 13-14", respectively.

Results from the supply chain indicate that LG will be the only provider of these foldable panels, which will probably not wrinkle, increasing the price. Preliminary estimates indicate that the panel alone will cost $600-650 and the hinge, which is expected to cost $200-250. The panel will be paired with an expensive hinge. Apple's hinge supplier will be Amphenol. “Powering both foldables will be an internal M5 series chip.”

Additionally, Ming-Chi Kuo provides a hazy estimate of the total cost. Preliminary projections indicate that the company's first foldable will retail for about $3,499, which is comparable to the current Vision Pro's starting price. Nonetheless, shipments—roughly approaching a million—will probably surpass those of the Vision Pro.
