According to reports, Samsung's newest M14 OLED screen—which is both brighter and more durable than the best panel seen in the Galaxy S24 Ultra right now—will be included in the next flagships from Apple and Google.

According to a report by the Korean publication ETNews, Samsung Display intends to offer the M14 OLED panel for Google's Pixel 9 series and the next iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and other devices in the second half of the year.

The moniker M14 denotes the OLED panel's utilization of higher-performance materials, most likely totaling 14. Comparing the M14 OLED to Samsung Display's existing OLED products, it should be brighter and have a longer lifespan.

Insiders, referenced in the Korean story, claim that the new display will be available on the iPhone 16 Pro (6.3-inch) and 16 Pro Max (6.9-inch), while the vanilla versions (6.1-inch 16 and 6.7-inch 16 Plus) will continue Apple employ the same 'M12' screens as the current 15 generation.

All of the Google Pixel 9 models, including the bigger Pixel 9 Pro XL and the smaller Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, are reportedly going to employ the newer M14 display.
