The majority of the specifications for the Pad 3, which Oppo is developing, have now been made public by the active Weibo user known as Digital Chat Station. It's been a while since the Oppo Pad 2 became official in March of last year, so a replacement is definitely overdue.

Because the first OnePlus Pad was essentially just a rebranded Oppo Pad 2, it should be noted that even if the Oppo Pad 3 might not be available outside of China, at least not in many other areas, there's a potential it could launch abroad as the OnePlus Pad 2.

A 12.1-inch 3000x2120 LCD touchscreen with a 7:5 aspect ratio, 900-nit peak brightness, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, and a 9,510 mAh battery that supports 67W rapid wired charging are all reportedly included in the Oppo Pad 3.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, together with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, will power it. The device will be made entirely of metal, and the term "fingerprint-free unlocking" suggests a facial recognition system of some kind (ideally not limited to the most basic one that employs the front camera alone).

There will also be an Oppo Pencil 2 stylus available, however it's not clear if it will come with the tablet or be sold separately. It will, in any case, feature a linear vibration motor, just like the most recent Apple Pencil Pro.

In comparison to the Oppo Pad 2, there has been a slight increase in screen size and resolution, significant improvement in peak brightness, and a more advanced chipset. Thus, Oppo's tablet lineup appears to have received a very positive update. Hopefully, this will be released as the OnePlus Pad 2 worldwide.
