The older Tizen watches are disappearing into the distance as Wear OS-powered devices advance into the future with AI. The Galaxy Store app sent a notification announcing the end of support for some older models later this year.

All Galaxy Watches running Tizen that were still supported are impacted by this transition (earlier Galaxy Gear devices have already been decommissioned). This is for owners of the two Watch Active variants and the Galaxy Watch up to Watch 3.

The timeline is shown here. Users will not be able to buy paid Tizen apps for their watches after September 30 this year. They will only be able to download content, not even free apps, after May 31, 2025.

Naturally, the programs that are now installed will keep working, but before you forget, you might want to browse the Galaxy Store and download any required apps.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch3, the final Tizen model, was released in 2020, making it four years old now and five years old when support stops. The most recent update for it was released in December of last year, and it only included a few new watch faces.
