A less expensive version of Apple's $3,500 Vision Pro headset is reported to be in development, and Mark Gurman of Bloomberg speculates that it will require a tethered connection to an iPhone or Mac.

Gurman provides information Apple's less expensive Vision headset, code-named N107, will save production costs by keeping the essential capabilities of the Vision Pro. Apple's strategy revolves around requiring the device to be connected to an iPhone or Mac via a tethered connection. Rumored to appear by the end of 2025, the less expensive Apple Vision headset is anticipated to provide a reduced field of view in comparison to the Vision Pro model.

An enhanced external camera system and a more potent processor are features that Apple is currently working on for its top Vision Pro model, codenamed N109. Early in 2026 is when that gadget is anticipated to debut.
