In the past, Samsung released "s" variants for several of its mid-rangers, which had better specifications than the "vanilla," non-"s" devices. It appears that it is now prepared to return to that game, even if it hasn't done so in a while.

The Wi-Fi Alliance certification of a Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-M558B suggests that a Galaxy M55s may be on the way. The model number for the Galaxy M55 is SM-M556B, for your reference. The higher number suggests that this will be a "s" version, but sadly, other than the fact that dual-band Wi-Fi will be supported, no more information is currently available.

Note that the Galaxy M55 has a triple rear camera system (50 MP main with OIS, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro), a 50 MP selfie camera, a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging, and a 6.7-inch 1080x2400 Super AMOLED+ screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit peak brightness. This information is provided for context.

In the event that history repeats itself, the M55s ought to be somewhat more advanced, at least in one area. When we figure out what that is, we'll let you know.
