During its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier this month, Apple published the first betas of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, and the firm is now releasing the second beta for both. Please note that these are developer-only betas, intended solely for developers to install. They are not available to the general public. Next month, public betas will be available.

Support for alternate app shops in the EU, alternate payment methods in Apple's App Store, a default web browser selection screen, and the option for browsers to utilize engines other than Safari's are all included in iPadOS 18 beta 2.

The European Commission's designation of iPadOS as a "gatekeeper platform" has resulted in the provision of these functionalities as required by the EU's Digital Markets Act. Apple initially included all of these concessions in iOS 17.4 back in March, and now iPadOS will also get them.

Meanwhile, macOS Sequoia beta 2 now supports iPhone mirroring thanks to iOS 18 beta 2. This allows you to use your Mac to control your iPhone while keeping it locked. At WWDC, the functionality was revealed.
