Apple revealed the iPad mini (2024) with a brief press statement on Tuesday, and a Geekbench listing has provided additional information about its specifications.

Comparable to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the only other smartphones with the Apple A17 Pro chipset, the tablet, marketed as the iPad 16,2, managed 2,817 single-core and 6,982 multi-core scores. Compared to the SoC featured in the iPhone 15 Pro models, the new iPad has a binned version of the A17 Pro with one fewer GPU core.


More significantly, we have verified that the 7th generation iPad mini has 8GB of RAM, which appears to be a system needed for Apple Intelligence when it launches with iPadOS 18.1. 

The 128GB W-Fi-only form of the Apple iPad mini (2024) costs $499/€599/£499, while the cellular-enabled device costs $649/€769/£649. While shipments are expected to start on October 23, pre-orders are now being accepted.
