Although Apple hasn't yet released the iPhone 16 family—that will probably happen in September—we've already heard a lot of speculations about the upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is expected to be presented in September 2019.

Another report, this time from well-known Chinese leaker Ice Universe, provides further information on each member of the family as well as a new detail regarding the next iPhone SE: it looks like this model will be the first in Apple's budget series to include an OLED screen.

The 'vanilla' iPhone 17 will be the first to include an LTPO display, with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a variable refresh rate, similar to what most Android flagships have been sporting for the last several years or so. According to Ice Universe, this opens the door for Always-on Display compatibility, however, Apple may choose to reserve that for Pros only. The A19 CPU and 8GB of RAM are included in the iPhone 17.

Concerning the pros, they will include three 48 MP cameras (wide, tele, and ultrawide), 12GB of RAM, and the A19 Pro processor. The highly anticipated iPhone 17 Slim, maybe also known as the iPhone 17 Ultra, will be an entirely redesigned ultra-thin device.

We presume that the Slim / Ultra will be the sole member of the family to debut a new design language, which may or may not then extend to the other members in 2026, given no other members of the family have been mentioned receiving a full makeover.
