The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 launch event is in less than two months, but in the interim, there has been a spicy leak regarding the Z Fold6 Slim or Ultra. Samsung hasn't yet decided on a final marketing name for this device.

Samsung intends to introduce a more compact Z Fold6 smartphone in early 2025 along with the Galaxy S25 series, according to Ross Young on X. The foldable, as its name suggests, will be more compact than the original, but it will also sport a bigger screen.

According to reports, Samsung eliminated the pen input digitizer in order to achieve a smaller design, which means that S Pen functionality is not available.

If all goes according to plan, the first batch of foldable panels for the next Z Fold6 Slim/Ultra will arrive at Samsung's factories in Q4 of this year, and the phone should be released in Q1 of 2025. It is believed that the price will be comparable to the Z Fold6.

By providing a greater selection of foldable smartphones that may appeal to a wider audience, Samsung appears to be quickly growing its foldable portfolio in an effort to keep one step ahead of rivals. A more budget-friendly market niche is being targeted by the speculated Galaxy Z Fold6 FE and Z Flip6 FE smartphones, which are also under development.
