This week, Apple launched iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5, however it appears that there is an issue with it besides the color reproduction flaw that affects OLED iPad Pros

We are discussing the reappearance of old, erased pictures. Some of these images were removed from users' libraries years ago, but they are again resurfacing. Let's just say that if pictures that ought to have been deleted are still on Apple's servers, it poses a serious privacy risk.

A Reddit user has reported seeing old images that were deleted in 2021 suddenly come back to life and appear to have been "recently uploaded" to iCloud. Then, a number of additional Redditors verified the problem. Four particular photographs are persistently appearing for a different user, even after being repeatedly erased.

To put it mildly, this is concerning. Although the reason behind this behavior is unknown, it's safe to assume that nobody would have anticipated that pictures they had deleted years ago would still be able to "come back to life" in the sense that the Recently Deleted album is supposed to only contain content for 30 days.

While Apple hasn't yet recognized the problem, we expect that it will do so shortly. If it's not too much to ask, we'd also want to hear a real explanation of how this may occur in addition to the eventual repair.

Some suspect that Apple may have unintentionally triggered this issue while trying to remedy a photo synchronization flaw that happened in iOS 17.3. It's interesting to note that despite being plainly disregarded, a few individuals who used the iOS 17.5 developer beta 4 prior to the general public release reported remarkably similar problems.
