It has been reported that Xiaomi is developing a smartphone without buttons, which it plans to release in the first half of 2019. It is reportedly dubbed Zhuque, and its most notable characteristic is undoubtedly the complete absence of buttons.

Regretfully, the information's source is unsure of exactly what will take the place of the buttons; voice commands, pressure-sensitive edges, or gesture controls could be used in combination.

Additionally, the phone will feature an under-display selfie camera, which should be an improvement above Samsung's offerings in this area. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 SoC, which will power the Zhuque, is anticipated to be released in April or June of 2025 along with the Xiaomi 15S Pro.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 appears to be an enhanced variant of the 8 Gen 4, which is scheduled for release in October.

We'll have to wait and see if the Zhuque turns out to be a hit or more of a specialized demo product, similar to the Meizu Zero. Do you recall the Meizu Zero? That's right.
